Therapeutic Services

We offer evidence-based occupational therapy to improve daily living skills.

Neurologic rehabilitation

Neurological diseases have a very important social impact, since they influence the family, social and professional environment of the affected person. Likewise, daily life activities will be affected by the limitation caused by the neurological pathology.

The neurological pathologies that are treated through Occupational Therapy are:

Cerebrovascular diseases, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury: head trauma, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, musculoskeletal system and connective tissue disease, severe burns, amputations, congenital malformations.

Physical rehabilitation

From the Occupational Therapy perspective, the intervention is aimed at people of any age who, due to trauma or illness, suffer physical sequelae that generate occupational dysfunction.

The structures to be treated from Occupational Therapy are: shoulder girdle (shoulder, scapula), elbow, hand and lower limb (balance, postural control, functional mobility and use of support products).

Once the occupational therapist has carried out the initial assessment, he or she will proceed to develop a personalized treatment, taking into account: individual characteristics, environment, medical history, occupational history, hobbies and physical, cognitive and sensory abilities, among others, seeing the individual in a holistic way and not only focusing on his or her injury.

Geriatric rehabilitation

In the elderly, occupation is essential for different reasons, including entertainment, distraction and the guarantee of maintaining the level of health, since cognitive, physical, sensory and emotional capacities remain active.

Old age is a stage of evolutionary development, in which a rapid and irreversible physical and mental deterioration will be seen, where the Occupational Therapist will play a fundamental role in maintaining or recovering from said deterioration. In order to carry out an effective treatment, the occupational therapist uses occupation (activities, tasks and/or role performance) as a tool to maximize the functional skills of the person, thus helping their autonomy, integrating them into the physical and social environment and thus improving their quality of life.

Techniques

Canadian Table

The Canadian table is a tool used in occupational therapy to assess a person's ability to perform daily activities and improve joint mobility. It consists of a table with different tasks and the patient's performance in each of them is assessed. It is commonly used in Canada, but its use has also spread to other countries.

This tool is very useful for designing a personalized treatment plan for each patient and helping them improve their quality of life.

Using this technique we can work on different aspects.

  • Joint range

  • Muscle balance

  • Tendon gliding

  • Occupational activities

  • Joint functionality

Virtual Reality

Virtual reality has become a very useful tool in occupational therapy. The benefits are many, as it allows patients to work in a controlled and safe environment, giving them the confidence to tackle situations that can be difficult in real life. In addition, virtual reality allows the therapist to customize the treatment for each patient, adapting it to their specific needs.

Another advantage is that virtual reality can be used to treat a wide variety of disorders, from autism spectrum disorders to traumatic brain injuries. In short, virtual reality is a very valuable tool for occupational therapy, as it allows patients to improve their quality of life and regain skills that they have lost due to illness or injury.

Occupational Activities

Occupational therapy focuses on helping people perform occupational activities that allow them to lead full and satisfying lives.

These activities can include everything from everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning to hobbies and recreational activities.

Occupational therapy can be helpful for people of all ages, from children with disabilities to older adults who need help staying active and healthy.

The goal is to improve patients' quality of life and promote their independence and autonomy in everyday life.

Instant Splints

Custom thermoplastic splints are made using high-quality thermoplastic materials, which are heated and moulded to perfectly fit the patient's anatomy. This allows for greater comfort and effectiveness in treatment, as the splint fits precisely to the affected area.

The advantages of custom thermoplastic splints include their lightness, durability and ease of cleaning. Furthermore, as they are personalised, they adapt to the specific needs of each patient, which maximises the therapeutic potential.

Occupational Therapists are professionals trained in the creation of different types of custom splints, taking into account the individual characteristics of the pathology and the patient, leading to a better treatment outcome.

Physical RH Software

We have 85 virtual reality-based physical exercises designed to recover the patient's maximum level of functionality. The software stores, measures and quantifies data on the patient's progress. In addition, it allows the professional to carry out a detailed follow-up on the recovery process through the generation of advanced clinical reports.

The exercises are designed to increase the patient's motivation in their recovery process. Rehabilitation sessions with this software have a lower dropout rate and generate better clinical results.

The system analyzes clinical parameters such as the base of support, the position of the center of gravity at rest, displacements, the joint range of the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and even the height and width of the step and other kinematic parameters.

Cognitive RH Software

Cognitive rehabilitation with software is one of the best stimulation tools, with more than 160 exercises to be able to design personalized treatment plans.

The system records, classifies and analyzes the interactions carried out by the patient. It calculates the correct answers, measures the response time and analyzes the patient's performance, providing the results to the professional through detailed clinical reports.

The system uses gamification, achieving better results in cognitive rehabilitation treatments. It generates a positive impact on the motivation of patients thanks to the use of techniques from the video game industry in its exercises.
